Why Use a Fire-Resistant Synthetic Towing Rope?
Emergency towing equipment is intended to remain available when normal vessel operations are disrupted. In fire-related incidents, towing lines may be exposed to elevated temperatures, flame, heat radiation, or other hazardous conditions.
Conventional synthetic ropes can lose mechanical performance when exposed to sufficiently high temperatures. Steel wire rope provides high-temperature capability but introduces other operational considerations, including higher weight, corrosion, handling difficulty, and stored energy.
FBR-Vesta™ is designed to address this trade-off by combining fire-resistant materials and protective technology with the handling advantages of a synthetic rope.
