Mixed fiber mooring rope | POWER-MIXED™ | FBR

POWER-MIXED™ is a mixed-fiber synthetic rope family combining polyester and polyolefin fibers in different proportions and constructions to balance strength, elongation, abrasion resistance, handling characteristics, weight, and other performance requirements.

The POWER-MIXED™ family includes two primary mixed-fiber configurations: full-mixed construction and partial-mixed construction. Different fiber combinations and rope constructions can be selected according to the requirements of the application.

The resulting rope properties are configuration-dependent. Density, buoyancy, elongation, strength, weight, and other performance characteristics may vary with the selected fiber ratio, construction, and specification. POWER-MIXED™ can therefore be configured for applications requiring either floating or sinking characteristics.

Available in different rope constructions and specifications, POWER-MIXED™ is designed for a broad range of marine applications, including vessel mooring, towing, fisheries and aquaculture, as well as other demanding marine operations.

Rather than relying on a single fiber to provide every performance characteristic, POWER-MIXED™ uses mixed-fiber construction to balance the properties required for the intended operating environment.

APPLICATIONS

WHY CHOOSE MIXED-FIBER ROPES?

Different synthetic fibers provide different performance characteristics. A mixed-fiber rope combines selected fibers to balance those characteristics rather than relying on a single material.

Polyester can contribute durability, abrasion resistance, and controlled rope behavior, while polyolefin fibers can reduce weight and provide different density and water-related characteristics.

By adjusting the fiber ratio and rope construction, POWER-MIXED™ can be configured for different requirements in strength, weight, elongation, abrasion resistance, density, and buoyancy.

This makes mixed-fiber construction particularly useful when a single-fiber rope cannot provide the desired balance of properties for the intended application.
