POLYESTER DOUBLE BRAIDED ROPE
POWERTWIN™ Polyester Double-Braided Rope is an all-polyester mooring rope constructed with a braided polyester core and braided polyester cover for stable handling, abrasion resistance, and controlled elongation in marine service.
The double-braid construction combines two braided components into a compact and flexible rope structure, while the outer braid provides the first line of contact against routine handling wear and mooring-equipment surfaces.
Polyester provides good dimensional stability, wet-service consistency, UV resistance, and moderate elongation, making it suitable for vessel mooring and berthing applications where durable, predictable rope behavior is important.

POWERTWIN™ Double Braided Mooring Rope Selection Guide
| Type | Material | Key Advantages | Specific Applications |
|---|---|---|---|
| Polyester | Polyester core & cover | Controlled stretch; abrasion resistance | Head, stern, breast, and spring lines where limited extension is preferred |
| Polyamide & Polyester | Nylon core & polyester cover | Elastic response; polyester wear protection | Ship mooring lines requiring elasticity and external abrasion protection |
| Polyamide | Nylon core & cover | Elasticity; energy absorption; flexible handling | Ship mooring lines where elastic extension accommodates vessel movement |
| Mixed Polyester & Polypropylene | Polyester/PP mixed-fiber core & cover | Balance of strength, weight, and handling | Ship-to-berth mooring lines requiring frequent deployment and retrieval |
Selection notes: Applications overlap; final selection depends on strength, working-load elongation, and equipment compatibility. Check wet-condition strength for nylon-containing ropes and specified buoyancy for mixed-fiber ropes.
