SINOROPE® Polyester Mooring Rope
SINOROPE® Polyester Mooring Rope is a parallel-core rope designed for offshore and deepwater stationkeeping. Made from high-strength, marine-grade polyester yarns, its multiple load-bearing cores deliver strength and an elastic response that helps accommodate changing offshore loads. A protected configuration with filter layers and an outer jacket helps limit particle ingress and external abrasion.
Polyester’s low creep under typical mooring loads and good tension fatigue performance support its use in long-term mooring systems. Lower submerged weight than steel mooring components also reduces the weight carried by the floating structure. SINOROPE® is designed for polyester rope sections in FPSO moorings and semisubmersible production platform moorings, with strength, stiffness, length, and terminations specified for the project.

- Oil & Gas Platform Mooring
- FPSO & Floating Production Units Mooring
- Floating Offshore Wind (FOW) Mooring
- Renewable Energy Mooring
FEATURED PROJECTS
Why Choose SINOROPE® Polyester for Offshore Mooring?
SINOROPE® Polyester Mooring Rope is a practical choice when a mooring system needs both axial compliance and manageable submerged line weight. Its stretch response can help moderate load peaks, while mooring analysis checks the resulting platform offsets and line tensions.
Selection should consider more than rope diameter and breaking strength. Quasi-static and dynamic stiffness, loading history, assembly length, and termination arrangements all affect how the rope performs within the system. Rope specifications should therefore be developed alongside the mooring design and installation requirements.
SINOROPE® Mooring Rope Selection Guide
| Type | Material | Key Advantages | Specific Applications |
|---|---|---|---|
| SINOROPE® HMPE Mooring Rope | HMPE (UHMWPE) | High strength-to-weight ratio; low elastic elongation; high axial stiffness. | Selected FPSO, drilling platform, and floating wind mooring sections where low line weight and platform offset control are priorities. |
| SINOROPE® Polyester Mooring Rope | Polyester (PET) | Greater elastic compliance; low creep under typical mooring loads. | Long-term FPSO, semisubmersible production platform, and floating wind moorings requiring greater elastic compliance. |
*Applications overlap. Final selection depends on required strength, stiffness, line weight, and service conditions. For long-term HMPE moorings, verify creep and creep-rupture performance for the specified fiber grade, loading, temperature, and design life.
