LIFTMAX® Plus Sling
LIFTMAX® is an HMPE rope sling for heavy lifting, made from 12-strand braided high-modulus polyethylene fiber rope. Its high strength-to-weight ratio reduces rigging weight, while the flexible, torque-neutral construction supports handling and positioning during lifting operations.
Available in single-leg and grommet configurations, LIFTMAX® can be supplied with a braided polyester or HMPE jacket for additional abrasion protection. The jacket protects the load-bearing rope without carrying the lifting load. Applications include offshore module installation, subsea equipment deployment, wind energy component handling, shipyard lifts, and salvage recovery. Sling size, length, connection details, and protection are selected for the lifting arrangement, with rated capacity established for the specified hitch, sling angles, and operating conditions.

BENEFITS
- High Strength, Low Rigging Weight: The HMPE core provides high tensile strength with low weight, helping crews maneuver and connect the sling during rigging.
- High Strength Within Limited Sling Lengths: The endless-loop construction suits engineered lifts that require high sling strength within a restricted effective working length.
- Low Elongation and Torque-Neutral Response: Low extension under load and a torque-neutral construction support controlled handling and positioning of heavy equipment.
- Matched-Length Capability: Manufacturing tolerances of ±1% of nominal length or better support matched sling sets for planned lifting arrangements.
- Protective Cover Options: Braided jackets and fabric sleeves help protect the load-bearing core from external wear. Their flexible contact surfaces can also help reduce surface marking on lifted equipment.
APPLICATIONS
- FPSO and Platform Module Installation: Lifting generator modules, process skids, and other topside equipment packages into position.
- Subsea Equipment Deployment: Lowering and recovering manifolds, subsea frames, and equipment packages from installation vessels.
- Offshore Wind Component Handling: Handling monopiles, transition pieces, tower sections, and selected turbine components during assembly and installation.
- Shipyard and Port Heavy Lifting: Lifting large shipbuilding sections, marine equipment, and heavy project cargo.
- Onshore Plant Installation: Positioning large machinery, prefabricated modules, and process equipment within industrial facilities.
- Salvage and Recovery Lifting: Recovering submerged machinery, equipment, and selected structural sections under an engineered lifting plan.
When to Consider LIFTMAX® Plus?
Consider LIFTMAX® Plus when the lifting arrangement calls for high sling strength, low rigging weight, and a limited effective working length. Matched sling sets and protective cover options can be specified around the project’s geometry and handling requirements.
Selection should account for the working load limit, hitch configuration, sling angles, connection dimensions, bearing surfaces, and operating temperature. Offshore and subsea lifts also require assessment of dynamic loading and the expected load cycles.
