On September 26, 2023, Qidong COSCO Shipping successfully installed pre-assembled GTG generator modules using heavy-duty synthetic slings from Four Brothers Rope.
The project required positioning three large modules onto an FPSO, with each module measuring 25×41×23 meters and weighing 1,700-2,200 tonnes. Eight specially engineered LIFTMAX® Plus slings ensured precise lifting and placement of these modules, which will provide permanent power to the FPSO’s upper deck.
All slings completed independent third-party verification and received DNV certification. Beyond meeting strength requirements, they demonstrated exceptional manufacturing precision with dimensional tolerances within 0.5% – setting new standards for heavy-lift operations.
This successful installation continues Four Brothers Rope’s strong track record in supporting major offshore projects, such as the LINGSHUI 17-2 and LIUHUA 11-1/4-1 developments. It highlights the company’s expertise in providing reliable, high-performance lifting solutions for demanding marine engineering projects.
