Polyamide(Nylon) with Jacket Single Point Mooring Hawser
FBR’s Jacketed Nylon Single Point Mooring Hawser is designed for tanker mooring at offshore loading terminals. It combines a 12-strand braided polyamide (nylon) core with a protective braided jacket, providing strength and elastic energy absorption to accommodate loads generated by vessel movement.
The jacket helps protect the core against external abrasion, while spliced eyes with protective thimbles and polyurethane coating help reduce wear at the terminations. Fitted flotation elements support the hawser at the water surface. Applications include tanker mooring at CALM and SALM buoys, tandem offloading from FPSOs and FSOs, and selected offshore loading towers designed for hawser connections. Hawser strength, length, flotation, and end fittings are specified to suit the terminal’s mooring arrangement, operating conditions, and connection requirements.

BENEFITS
- Strength and Energy Absorption: The 12-strand nylon core provides tensile strength, while nylon’s elastic response helps accommodate changing loads caused by vessel movement.
- Core and Eye Protection: A braided outer jacket helps protect the core from external abrasion. Thimbles and polyurethane protection help reduce wear at the spliced eyes.
- Flotation for Surface Handling: Fitted flotation elements support the hawser at the water surface, helping crews manage the line during connection and recovery.
APPLICATIONS
- CALM Buoy Tanker Mooring
- FPSO / FSO Tandem Offloading Mooring
- Offshore Loading Terminals
- Other Vessels or Floating Structures SPM
FEATURED CASES
Hawser Selection and Specification
Select the hawser for its wet operating conditions and the complete mooring arrangement. Key considerations include wet breaking strength, load-extension behavior, cyclic performance, assembly length, flotation, and end connections.
Review the hawser together with its thimbles, chafe chains, and tanker bow connection requirements. Technical documentation should identify the rope design, applicable OCIMF guideline edition, test basis, and supplied assembly configuration.
