
Project Overview
On October 8, 2025, Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding delivered Ever Ally, the fifth and final 24,000 TEU ultra-large containership built for Evergreen Marine Corporation under this series — completing a multi-year shipbuilding program that began with the delivery of the series’ first vessel, Ever Alot, in 2022.
All five vessels in the Hudong-Zhonghua series are equipped with POWERNEEMA® ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) mooring ropes, supplied by Four Brothers Rope. Across the full Evergreen newbuild program — including two additional sister vessels built by Jiangnan Shipyard — FBR supplied mooring ropes for all seven ships.

Why UHMWPE for Ultra-Large Containerships
Mooring operations on ultra-large containerships present a distinct set of technical demands. Frequent port calls require high abrasion resistance; large wind-exposed surface area requires high breaking strength; and short port-stay windows require ropes that are easy to handle during time-constrained mooring operations.

POWERNEEMA® UHMWPE rope was selected to meet these requirements. At equivalent diameter and strength, the rope weighs approximately one-eighth of comparable steel wire rope, while offering high tensile strength, corrosion resistance, and UV resistance — improving both the efficiency and safety of mooring operations.
