Four Brothers Rope (FBR) recently participated in the 7th Joint Annual Meeting and Technical Conference organized by the Cordage Institute (CI) and Eurocord in Faro, Portugal.
The event brought together global rope manufacturers, fiber suppliers, technical experts, and industry organizations to discuss the latest developments in fiber rope technology, testing methods, and industry standards.
During the conference, representatives from FBR, Dr. Yuhua Sid Wang and Dr. Chiate Rafael Chou joined technical discussions and standards meetings. Dr. Yuhua Sid Wang delivered a presentation on low-creep HMPE fiber technology, sharing research progress, testing data, and insights into the development of high-performance synthetic ropes.

The presentation attracted attention from international experts and provided valuable opportunities for technical exchange on next-generation HMPE rope solutions.
As an active participant in the global rope industry, FBR is committed to advancing rope technology and contributing to international standards development. The company is a member of the Cordage Institute (CI), International Marine Purchasing Association (IMPA), and International Organization for the Study of the Endurance of Wire Ropes (OIPEEC).
In 2025, Dr. Chiate Rafael Chou, Chief Technology Officer of FBR, served as Chairman of the Braided Rope Standards Committee, supporting the development of three Cordage Institute standards: CI 1305, CI 1310, and CI 1311.
FBR will continue engaging with global industry partners through technical collaboration, knowledge sharing, and standards development to support safer and more reliable rope solutions worldwide.
