FBR Participates in OIPEEC 2026 Conference in Madrid, Showcasing Rope Engineering Innovation

Madrid, Spain — March 20, 2026 — We participated in the OIPEEC 2026 Conference, held from March 17 to 20 in Madrid, Spain. The event brought together scientists, researchers, and manufacturers from over 20 countries to exchange insights on rope technology and its evolving applications across industries.

Representing our team, our CEO, Mr. Li Yanxi, and Dr. Wang Yuhua, Assistant to our Chief Technology Officer, attended the conference and engaged with industry peers on current challenges and innovations in rope engineering.

On the first conference day, on behalf of FBR, Dr. Wang Yuhua delivered a technical presentation titled “Use of Soft Shackle in a Novel Water Retaining Curtain Wall for Reservoir Water Temperature Recovery”.

The presentation was based on FBR’s innovative practice in the global pioneering flexible water-retaining curtain wall project for water temperature control at the Sanbanxi Hydropower Station in Guizhou, which FBR participated in 2022. It systematically elaborated on the innovative connection method utilizing fiber ropes and soft shackles within the project. The solution provided by FBR significantly simplified the operational complexity of on-site engineering installation and reduced technical requirements for construction personnel, creating favorable conditions for the project’s efficient advancement and successful implementation. Since its commissioning and operation, the project has effectively improved the downstream water ecological environment and made a positive contribution to the protection of local aquatic life.

OIPEEC, founded in 1963, is a globally recognized non-profit organization dedicated to the study and advancement of rope technology, covering both steel wire ropes and synthetic fiber ropes. The conference serves as an important platform for technical exchange and collaboration across sectors such as offshore engineering, marine mooring, lifting, mining, and renewable energy.

Our participation in OIPEEC 2026 reflects our ongoing commitment to engaging with the global rope industry and contributing to the development of advanced fiber rope solutions. We will continue to focus on delivering safe, reliable, and high-performance rope systems for customers worldwide.
